I purchased this radio because of its great FM sensitivity. The giga panel was a pleasant plus. Given the chance, I would buy the radio again. It would be nice if the selection titles would continue to scroll as the song plays. It would be nice if th (Read full review at Crutchfield)

I love the new deck. Installation wasn't bad but I added the steering wheel control adaptor. If it was just the deck it would have been easy. Making playlists isn't as hard as one review said. It's just a matter of making folders in windows explorer. (Read full review at Crutchfield)

Good - Excellent sound reproduction with both CDs and the faceplate memory using MP3 files... Bad - No auto-scan feature for either the faceplate memory or the tuner... Makes it a pain to locate a particular track or to find radio stations away from (Read full review at Crutchfield)

After having my stereo stolen from my Ford Ranger, I was certainly looking for something to fill the whole in my dashboard. I mistakenly chose another SONY product thinking that it would just plug right into everything I already had in my dash since (Read full review at Crutchfield)

| The Sony MEX-1GP Giga Panel will completely change the way you listen to music in your car. While most people accept toting around CD as a necessary evil, it clearly isn't the best thing for the discs. Connecting and disconnecting an MP3 player also introduces its own set of problems. The MEX-1GP changes all that in a major way. In addition to the AM/FM tuner and CD player, which will also play MP3 files burned to disc, the MEX-1GP has 1GB of Flash memory integrated into the faceplate. This will store up to 500 songs, right in the head unit. The way the music is transferred into the memory is nothing short of brilliant. The removable faceplate has a USB port that connects to a computer. Bring the faceplate inside, connect it to a computer, and it shows up as an external drive. Simply drag and drop music files, be they MP3, WMA, or ATRAC3 and ATRAC3plus. The glossy black faceplate also has an LCD display that makes it easy to keep track of what music files are loaded. The MEX-1GP has a built-in amplifier that provides 17 watts (continuous) into four channels (52 watts peak). There are two sets of 4-volt pre-amp outputs that are selectable between the rear channels or a subwoofer. When a subwoofer is selected, a crossover and independent volume control are activated. The Sony MEX-1GP is an innovative product that definitely keeps one step ahead of the technology curve. Warranty 1 year ...
